Mark is our South Hams PCN First Contact Practitioner (FCP) Physiotherapist. Mark has been working as a Physio in the NHS for 20 years. Since completing Junior Rotations in Southampton, he has spent the last 17 years working in South Devon and has covered most of the community hospitals and physiotherapy outpatient’s clinics in the region. He has worked in Pain Clinic, Rheumatology, Shoulder Clinic, Lower Limb Rehab, Specialist Spinal clinic and even done a stint as a Therapy Manager along the way. Mark has a master’s qualification in Injection Therapy and a keen interest in sports injuries following a degree in Sports Science and work in the fitness industry before becoming a Physiotherapist.
Mark is delighted to be now working with local GP’s and supporting them with the day to day demands on primary care in this new, First Contact Practitioner role. This role is designed to improve access for patients to expert musculoskeletal assessment and treatment. Seeing patients at the first point of contact, can make a real difference to people’s lives by making clear, early diagnosis and initiating essential first line management whilst linking in with community Physio and other partners where necessary. He is passionate about supporting the health and happiness of people in his local community and very keen to help them to remain as fit and active as possible, living lives to the full.
