Lorna is one of our two South Hams PCN Paramedics. She has been a Paramedic for 15 years, working in London for most of her career and then Scotland for the last 3 years until August 2021 when she moved to Devon. She has also done some voluntary medical work in Kenya and Madagascar over the years.
Lorna is studying for her master’s in advanced clinical practice (ACP) and is an experienced Paramedic using her assessment and diagnostic skills to deliver good patient care, working in collaboration with other members of the team.
Paramedics are very experienced in dealing with acutely unwell patients and making decisions about their care.
She undertakes same day/urgent clinics and home visits for patients that need to be seen that day as their illness or injury can’t wait for a routine appointment. She always has the support of a Doctor and will be able to see and treat an individual or refer onwards to Hospital or another healthcare service as necessary.
